KVS Eligibility Criteria for Teachers

Postgraduate Teacher (PGT)

  • Minimum 50% aggregate marks in one of the following:
    • B.E. or B.Tech degree or any recognized diploma/post-graduate diploma.
    • Two-year integrated postgraduate M.Sc. or M.A. course from an NCERT Regional College of Education.
    • Master’s degree (M.A./MCA/M.Tech) from a recognized university.
  • B.Ed. degree from a recognized university (except for IT subject).
  • Additional qualifications:
    • Postgraduate diploma in Computer Applications along with a postgraduate degree in any subject.
    • DOEACC ‘B’ Level certification with a postgraduate diploma in any subject.
    • DOEACC ‘C’ Level certification with a graduate degree in any subject.
  • Age Limit: 40 years.

Trained Graduate Teacher (TGT)

  • Minimum 50% aggregate marks in one of the following:
    • Four-year integrated M.Sc. or M.A. course from an NCERT Regional College of Education.
    • Bachelor’s degree in any relevant subject.
  • B.Ed. degree from a recognized university.
  • Qualified CTET (Central Teacher Eligibility Test) Paper-II conducted by CBSE.
  • Age Limit: 35 years.

Primary Teacher (PRT)

  • Senior Secondary (10+2) qualification with at least 50% marks and one of the following:
    • Two-year diploma in Elementary Education or Special Education.
    • Four-year B.El.Ed. degree.
    • B.Ed. degree from an NCTE-recognized institution (for teaching classes 1 to 4).
  • Age Limit: 30 years.

Primary Teacher (Music)

  • Senior Secondary (10+2) qualification with at least 50% marks and a Bachelor’s degree in Music from a recognized university.

Additional Requirements for All Positions

  • Proficiency in both English and Hindi.
  • Knowledge of computer applications.
